What Information Can be Changed in the Aadhaar Card Online?
If you log in online, citizens can’t update or fix all their data in their Aadhaar card. Just addresses can be changed electronically in Aadhaar according to the latest developments. If a person wants to update other information, he must visit an Aadhaar Enrolment Center like Applicant Name, Date of Birth, Mobile, Email ID, and Gender.

Steps to Modify Address in the Aadhaar Card:
When an applicant moves to another location, his or her address may be updated in Aadhaar. As long as the person changes his address, the address can be updated as often. Look at the following steps to modify the address online in Aadhaar:
- Go to the official web portal of UIDAI ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup for Aadhaar Self Service Update.
- Fill the Aadhaar number field and select the option of “Send OTP”.
- Enter the OTP, which is sent to the registered mobile number.
- Choose the Address Updation option on the screen.
- Submit the current address details and confirm it.
- Submit the correct proof of address.
- To authenticate, choose your BPO
- Your request application is submitted and generates an Update Request Number (URN).
Not having Document Proof? Steps to Update Address in Aadhaar without Document Proof:
Those without clear proof of address can also change their new residential address in Aadhaar. The latest system “Address Validation Letter” helps the user to change the Aadhaar card address via the validator. After the process is completed successfully the address of the validator’s Aadhaar card will be changed in the applicant’s Aadhaar. Use the Address Validation Letter to follow the above steps to update the address in the Aadhaar card.

UIDAI operates an extra facility for changing family members’ addresses online. This is achieved using a letter of confirmation for an address. Upon requesting for Aadhaar’s validation letter on the UIDAI website, an SMS will be sent to provide you consent for this upgrade. By clicking on the link an OTP is created for consent. Once the Aadhaar Verifier has received its approval, a letter of validation with a secret code is sent to its address mentioned in the letter within the next 30 days.
